Extended the shared Kotlin Multiplatform core built for HomePass to power WorkPass, Plume's WiFi platform for small businesses. Reused HomePass's networking and device-management modules across both apps, then built the business-specific native layer on top: network segmentation for employee, guest, and back-office traffic, guest network access, and staff device management.
Outcomes
- Shared KMP core reused HomePass's Kotlin Multiplatform business-logic modules instead of building WorkPass's networking and device layer from scratch
- 2 products, 1 core HomePass and WorkPass ship from the same underlying architecture and module boundaries
- Business WiFi shipped iOS support for network segmentation, guest access, and staff device management for small-business customers
Architecture & Approach
WorkPass leans on the same Clean Architecture and Kotlin Multiplatform foundation built for HomePass. The module boundaries that let HomePass ship 8+ white-label apps made standing up a second product on the shared core straightforward, this time for Plume's small-business customers rather than home users.
